What is an 80% Lower Receiver?
An 80% Lower Receiver is an industry term that refers to an item that has been partially machined but has NOT yet reached a stage of manufacture that meets the definition of firearm frame or receiver found in the Gun Control Act of 1968 (GCA).

How can I turn an 80% Lower Receiver into a working firearm?
In order to turn an 80% Lower Receiver in to a working Firearm you must complete the Manufacturing Process. Specifically, you must machine the Fire Control Group Pocket and you must drill holes for the Hammer, Trigger Pins and Selector. The easiest method to complete this process is by using a JIG, such as the 5D Tactical Router Jig Pro.

What if I don't want to finish the machining myself?
Simply pick up a 100% Stripped Lower Receiver from your local gun store. If you are a First Time Builder we highly RECOMMEND this option for completing your build. It is generally LESS EXPENSIVE and takes LESS TIME to complete.

Can I manufacture my own firearm?
